  • St Fergus Community Meeting

The Greenspan Agency held an initial public consultation meeting to discuss their proposal for siting 3 wind turbines on the degraded St Fergus Moss.  The meeting took place on Wednesday 9th June in the St Fergus Public Hall.

The proposal is for 3 turbines, rated at 2.3MW and with a tip height of 100m.

We were delighted to welcome members of the St Fergus Community Association and the Crimond Area Residents and Tenants Association to the meeting, and we were pleased to discuss the proposal with several local residents. The general response to the proposal was very positive, with many noting that green energy is the future, and that "we cannot rely on fossil fuels forever".

Overall, the St Fergus Moss project complements the plan to position Buchan as a renewables hub for Scotland, and is an opportunity for Aberdeenshire to continue embracing the growing Renewables industry with the same enthusiasm it did with Oil and Gas.
