Greenspan withdraw their planning application for more turbines at Cairnmore
The application was first submitted in February 2011 and, though the review was granted by the LRB in June 2012, it is yet to be fully determined by Aberdeenshire Council. During the substantial intervening period Greenspan was informed that the turbines originally applied for, the Vestas V52, are no longer being manufactured. It looked like the model might be reintroduced for a period which would have worked well for Cairnmore, but Vestas have recently confirmed that this is not the case.
Alternative, identical looking turbines are available, though they will require different grid infrastructure and a new substation building. As the original submission documents relate to the now discontinued Vestas turbines, Greenspan has taken the decision to withdraw the application
