ROC Recycle Value 2015-16

Posted on 24 January 2017

ofgem-logo-200dpiThe total Renewables Obligation for electricity suppliers in Great Britain was 84,439,465 ROCs for 2015-16.

Suppliers were able to meet their obligations either through presenting ROCs or making buy-out payments at £43.30 per ROC, or a combination of both.

The recycle value for the 15/16 compliance period (CP14) is £0.00 / ROC presented.

The reason for the absence of a recycle value is due to the vast deployment of renewables producing ROCs over the last 2 years, therefore allowing suppliers to meet their obligations.

Ofgem commented:
We will publish a note on the extent of the 2016/17 RO administration costs in due course, however, this year, combining the buy-out and expected late payment funds will not provide sufficient funds to cover them.”
